报告摘要:System biology is a brand new approach utilized in biomedical research for sophisticated diseases. It is based on series of complex interaction within biological systems, from genes, cells, tissues, to individual organisms. However, its usage in current cancer research mostly is still limited to understand metabolic or cell signaling networks. In this talk, we will use lymphoma study as an example to illustrate how we combined structural and functional genomics tools to further classify diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) into multiple subgroups with distinct clinical outcomes, then to understand their oncogenic mechanisms and subsequently to devise new therapeutic agents. The biological technology used in this large cohort study includes microarray (gene expression, cGH), shRNA library screening, and next generation sequencing .
