中国科学院：

　　2011年诺贝尔生理学/医学奖获得者 Bruce Beutler 教授将于2013年4月9日（周二）14:00在东单三条协和礼堂讲座。此讲座为中国医学科学院举办的系列‘协和大师讲堂’之一，由曹雪涛院长主持。讲座内容摘要如下：

Analyzing immunity by forward genetics

While the exact number of genes required for a robust immune response remains unknown, it appears to be quite large based on the high heritability of premature death from infectious disease (equivalent to failure of immunoprotection).  To identify these genes, germline mutagenesis has been linked to a series of genetic screens implemented in mammals.  These screens probe various aspects of the immune response, including the ability to survive viral infection, produce an antibody response, and resolve inflammation.  Dozens of essential proteins, many of them new, have been identified as a result, and an early “picture” of these immune processes has begun to emerge as well.
